OOTD36: Navy Blue and Red

It has been a long time since I posted anything and it’s not because I gave up, I was just away 😀

The outfit I am posting today isn’t new as I had posted in on my instagram however I didn’t have time to put it here as well.

It’s just a simple combination of navy blue which has become one of my favourite colours and red.

OOTD35: Embroidery and Print

I am back with another outfit for spring but let’s face it – even though the sun is shining, it’s still way too cold to be wearing only that here in London. All the cheerful florals still need to be buried deep under a coat but oh well, I am quite used to freezing for a bit so that I could take some nice pictures 😀

Here I am wearing a sheer embroidered top from Zara which itself is lovely but a nightmare figuring out what to put underneath. I feel this way about the whole sheer fabrics’ trend because it looks nice but whatever you put or don’t put underneath kind of ruins it. Anyway, I decided to use a simple white body I got years ago from ASOS and whereas I don’t mind it too much if I don’t concentrate on it, I still don’t like the look of the very basic piece underneath an almost designer looking top.

The white body was the best choice I could think of for this outfit so here it is. I paired the embroidered top with a colourful camo print skirt and I’m very happy with the result as it makes me hopeful of warmer days and overall positive about the summer that’s coming up.

Accessories: Double Bags

I usually get quite excited about accessories’ posts just like today. I tend to either neglect them or overdo with it, a perfect example would be today’s post inspired by a picture one of my friends liked on Instagram. You can see the inspirational picture here which is an outfit from Marni’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection.

I love the minimalistic and clean aesthetic of this look as well as the oversized pockets. I am not too sure whether those are supposed to be pockets or some sort of waist bags but I love the way it looks. The funny thing is that I was shopping last week and I had quite a few paper bags to carry and I was thinking to myself that it would be great to somehow attach those bags to my waist so that I wouldn’t need to feel the weight of it on my arms or shoulders and then soon after this I saw the Marni’s outfit 😀

I have to mention that I did my own version of this because I enjoyed experimenting with it a lot but I did not wear it throughout the whole day. That is mostly because the strap of the green bag can only be wrapped and tied around my waist and doesn’t stay like this for long whereas the white bag is great because it can be undone like a belt and securely fastened.

I think wearing double bags does not only look great but can be very useful to keep stuff in it also. It’s like a fashionable version of a bumbag. I want to try wearing two bags that are the same around my waist which I think would look amazing.

OOTD31: Lilac Dress

Weather’s looking good but I have a feeling it’s trying to deceive me into going outside feeling all summery without tights and then getting a frostbite. It’s a shame I can’t ditch tights just yet but apparently the weekend should be lovely. We’ll see.

I love seeing colours around me and this sort of lilac keeps popping up and catching my attention. I can almost smell the actual lilacs when I look at it so I cannot help getting reminiscent of the careless childhood days running around outside.

I coincidentally let my hair down for this look which made me feel a bit like a hippie surrounded by nature. It’s a bit hard to connect with the nature when you live in a city and the only nature you can see is that little piece of grass in the bottom left in the full body shots but surely the imagination counts? 😀

I love the combination of lilac and the green colour of the belt. I call this kind of green the ‘United Colors of Benetton’ kinda green if you see what I mean. I’ve been a bit obsessed with combining purples and blues lately so thanks to whoever came up with an idea of painting nails, I can add little touches of blue to the look.
