Easter Dresses Edit

I sometimes get curious about what’s out there for those looking for an outfit for an occasion. In this case I am talking about the Easter that’s coming up. I have to admit that after checking out the available stuff online I worry about the busy and the careless girls who leave it all to the last minute to find a perfect dress or an outfit. It could do with something I could even call a bit of a trauma I had a few years ago just before my convocation.

I was doing some travelling after finishing university but I made sure I came back for the graduation however I didn’t have a lot of time to find a dress. I have to say my mind was elsewhere because I was having a good time travelling so worrying about some dress wasn’t even on my mind. And then it was a bit too late to get something that was just right for it so I ended up wearing a dress that I already had (which was a lovely dress by the way) but I wanted something new and special for it.

So believe me when I say that it actually makes me worried about not being able to find something perfect for some special day or an event 🙂

I went online to check out the dresses that some of the brands that I normally would shop with had. The winners of my research were Zara and Mango offering a range of dresses from simple dressy type to gowns. My criteria was something light and plain coloured however floral prints would be acceptable also. I was also looking for some ruffles or pleats as well as slightly oversized silhouettes. The length preference that I has was maxi or midi dresses however I could only find a few of those that made it to my list. I am sure I would have found some nice dresses on ASOS however I wasn’t quite up for looking through 5538 items 😀

Easter Outfit Inspiration 1

What a lovely weekend it was last week. The weather’s back to normal now but as expected, my desire to wear dresses has grown. Another reason for that is the Easter that’s coming up. It’s this week. This week!

I thought a little about what I would like to be wearing this Easter and the first thing that comes to my mind is dresses of course. But not just any dresses, something light and flowy and preferably long.

I usually turn to Zara when I need clothes for an occasion and it did not disappoint me this time. I found this white embroidered midi dress with balloon sleeves and it just seemed perfect for that. I’ve seen the same style of this dress in different colours in store and I think the grey version of it might also be available online. Zara used to have a navy blue one with red embroidery in their winter sale but I somehow missed it. Anyway, the white version of this dress is my favourite 🙂

I’ve done a second Easter outfit which I’ll be posting later this week, probably on Wednesday!

Accessories: Double Bags

I usually get quite excited about accessories’ posts just like today. I tend to either neglect them or overdo with it, a perfect example would be today’s post inspired by a picture one of my friends liked on Instagram. You can see the inspirational picture here which is an outfit from Marni’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection.

I love the minimalistic and clean aesthetic of this look as well as the oversized pockets. I am not too sure whether those are supposed to be pockets or some sort of waist bags but I love the way it looks. The funny thing is that I was shopping last week and I had quite a few paper bags to carry and I was thinking to myself that it would be great to somehow attach those bags to my waist so that I wouldn’t need to feel the weight of it on my arms or shoulders and then soon after this I saw the Marni’s outfit 😀

I have to mention that I did my own version of this because I enjoyed experimenting with it a lot but I did not wear it throughout the whole day. That is mostly because the strap of the green bag can only be wrapped and tied around my waist and doesn’t stay like this for long whereas the white bag is great because it can be undone like a belt and securely fastened.

I think wearing double bags does not only look great but can be very useful to keep stuff in it also. It’s like a fashionable version of a bumbag. I want to try wearing two bags that are the same around my waist which I think would look amazing.

OOTD31: Lilac Dress

Weather’s looking good but I have a feeling it’s trying to deceive me into going outside feeling all summery without tights and then getting a frostbite. It’s a shame I can’t ditch tights just yet but apparently the weekend should be lovely. We’ll see.

I love seeing colours around me and this sort of lilac keeps popping up and catching my attention. I can almost smell the actual lilacs when I look at it so I cannot help getting reminiscent of the careless childhood days running around outside.

I coincidentally let my hair down for this look which made me feel a bit like a hippie surrounded by nature. It’s a bit hard to connect with the nature when you live in a city and the only nature you can see is that little piece of grass in the bottom left in the full body shots but surely the imagination counts? 😀

I love the combination of lilac and the green colour of the belt. I call this kind of green the ‘United Colors of Benetton’ kinda green if you see what I mean. I’ve been a bit obsessed with combining purples and blues lately so thanks to whoever came up with an idea of painting nails, I can add little touches of blue to the look.
